Welcome to DayZ Sudo

DayZ Sudo is a community reference library built for DayZ console server owners and administrators. It brings together code snippets, configuration examples, and practical explanations that are otherwise scattered across Discord servers, forum threads, and trial-and-error experimentation.

The goal is a single place where the collective knowledge of the console DayZ community lives: verified, documented, and easy to navigate. Less searching, less guessing, more building.

Community knowledge, in one place

Console DayZ administration has no official documentation. What works and what doesn't is knowledge earned through hours of testing and shared between server owners in the community. This library exists to capture that knowledge before it gets buried in a Discord channel or lost when a server closes down.

Every page here is written from experience. Where something behaves unexpectedly or has a known console-specific quirk, that's documented too. Not just what a setting does, but what actually happens when you change it on a live server.

Getting started

If you are new to console server administration, start with the Economy and Loot section. The types.xml file is the most frequently edited and most frequently misunderstood part of any DayZ server. Understanding it makes everything else easier to follow.

Use the sidebar to navigate by category. Use the search bar if you know what you are looking for.

Pages are added and updated as information is verified. If you find something missing or outdated, use the Edit this page button at the bottom of any page.
